Happy Holidays
So much has happened since my last post and I have been getting even more facebook msg about updating my page; well here it is. Thanksgiving week was a blast, I rested for majority of the week and work at the Colonnade Monday through Thursday. I have never seen so many people come into a restaurant at one time, over 1300 guest with a 2+ hour wait time. They told me this would be the busiest day on the calender but I had no idea it would be like this. Over the weekend I went to Nashville Tenn to help my team (Rugby) with a construction project just outside of downtown. Tough work but it was great hanging out with the fellas, the pay was nice too.
This was the first time that I had been in Nashville since I went to meet with the Tenn Titans. Nashville is a great place to have a good time and raise a family if you ask me. I remember when I step foot in their stadium and training facility saying to myself, "I could definitely be a Titan" and those thoughts came back once again. Any hoo lol, had a great holiday week and weekend. Even though I was working for the majority of it, I'm thankful for that.
This week totally opposite from last, working less and workingout more. It feels great getting back into the swing of things, benching squatting running etc., I'm having a great time. I even picked up a few new clients this week, and it's always nice helping someone accomplish their fitness goals. One client in particular though has been challenging in more ways then one. He is actually challenging me on my future goals, life choice, career options etc. This guy has me thinking about the choices I need to make to better prepare myself for the future. Not to say that I haven't been think of these things all along, but he brought them to the forefront of my thoughts I guess.
All and all I want to be successful, I will be successful because I believe. No matter what I do.

New Things to come
If your a facebook friend of mine then you have seen the new training video I released a week ago on my Youtube account. I have received great reviews about it and I want to continue to grow my brand as a well polished athlete, leader and football player.

Thursday 9/30/10
It seems like forever since I have posted on this page, sometimes running around training, working and the acts of everyday life gets the best of you. Well now its time to settle down and recap on whats been going on for the month of September 2010. I have spent lots of time on the track and in the gym, getting bigger, faster and stronger; and helping others do the same. Part time working at a restaurant here in Atlanta called the Collonade, it pays the bills for now. Obviously not what my dream job is and I agree it's not what I'm suppose to be doing. It's funny because every time I have a server position, I always get comments like "you shouldn't be doing this job" from the guest and they are right. I simply tell them I'm just paying the bills for now, but I always wonder what it is that they see in me besides my size and smile that makes me seem out of place. Whatever it is I agree with them 110%.
I'm looking forward to the change and the job that best fits me, football :). We have been doing lots of filming this month also and along with the personal training I have been doing on the side I have kept myself busy to say the least. Teams have remained in contact with me and I'm looking forward to getting back on the field, playing ball and doing what I do. I'm a living witness that dreams can become your reality, you just have to believe; because your never to old to dream.
"A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and make them sure"
(Proverbs 16:9)
Today I encourage you to search your heart and allow those God-given dreams to surface. You know the dreams that won't go away. You may have had it for years, but you still can't let it go. In fact, you may have tried to let it go, but it wont let go of you; yeah that one. God place those Desires which in Latin means "from the father", inside of you for a purpose, and He's going to use them to direct you into the destiny He has in store for you!

ENJOY LIFE
It's been little while since I have posted a full on post of whats going on in y life. Coach Williams in amazing, my speed is drooping everyday. Fatsos is still my sponsor but I am no longer there; and I have a new part time job at a restaurant called the Collonade.
I'm still patiently awaiting the phone call of my life, the call from any given team that brings my dreams to reality. I mean teams have been calling throughout the National Football League, but none as of yet not including the Bills from last season offering me the opportunity of a life time.
Beside all that, life is good family. I mean I'm doing some personal training on the side, still building my web page brandonculpepper.com and enjoying life. I have been in the weight a lot lately, building my strength and maintaining size and speed. It's amazing how much faster I am now, at 20lbs heavier. I'm not as big as I was in college but my strength is getting there.
Or family reunion was last month, I flew to Wisconsin and my mother and I drove to Arkansas; and Boy was it hot. Don't get me wrong it's hot in Atlanta, but in the country of Pine Bluff Arkansas that heat is no joke. It was good to see all my great uncles and cousins and most importantly my mother. My dad had a birthday on the 13th of August and is recovering well from his eye surgery in July; and if my family is good then so am I.
I'm not stressing about football because it's a game and I enjoy playing it. It's not a weight on my shoulders anymore and I know without a dout, when my opportunity arises I'll be ready.

What A weekend
This weekend started out as most do in my life, with adventure and by the end of it stories to be told. Friday I participated in the AAG Foundation Celebrity golf event in Suwanee GA. My team although somewhat new to the game performed very well. Unfortunately I have what you call a slice in my swing and when I drive the ball you can guarantee two things, its going far and its heading towards the right (this is what a slice is). We played at the Bear's Best Golf course which in my opinion is something for all to see that play the game of golf. This is a Jack Nicklaus golf course and he designed it to feature 18 of his favorite holes from around the world, like I said it's a site to see.
The Celeb list included, many former and active athletes from around the world; Jim Brown, Hank Aaron, Ray Lewis, Reggie McNeal and many others. To say the least I had a blast and this was a great way for me to network with those in my profession. Unfortunately my team only played nine holes, if you know anything about Atlanta this summer, you know that it's hot and we were out there cooking like labor day BBQ LOL!!! I finished 10 over par for the first 9 holes, wasn't to bad for someone who hasn't Golf in about 3years.
There are times when I find myself doing too much and not getting the proper rest to perform at the top of my ability. My strength coach and I had a killer leg workout on Wednesday of last week, Thursday wasn't too, bad but Friday was a beast. Every hole felt like a mountain climbing expo with 400lbs on my back, but we made it through. The following morning 9am, I had a track workout with my speed coach, it was no joke either. I took my time to warm up, lots of stretching and quick movement to get that soreness out from the day prior. Although legs were a bit heavy I performed well, running a 4.29 sec flying forty, recording 1.3's and
1.4's 10 yard dash and a 18 sec 150 meter sprint. Every week I'm seeing improvements in my speed and I thank God and coach Williams for my success, were almost to our goal ladies and gents. 4.29 sec, NOW THAT"S FAST :)
Following my workout from 9-11:30am, I headed out to Cummings GA for a Rugby Tournament, this is where the doing too much comes into play. We get there and it is packed, Rugby players young and old, girls and boys playing to get the prize. I was only allowed to play in one match thank God (IT WAS SO HOT) and only the second half of that one, but still I recorded a tri (touchdown) and a hand full of tackles. This was a 7's tournament, less guys on the field then a regular Rugby match
(15) and less time, but same field size and much further to run. By the end of the night, 7:00pm during the social (every Rugby Match has socials, parties where opposing teams drink and socialize) I was ready for bed. What a weekend and what a great time.

CHANGE IS GOING TO COME!!!
I'm not afraid of change, to be honest I actual enjoy and look forward to change. In the recent months I have changed my place of residents here in Atlanta GA, change my training regimen, how I view life and the everyday experiences I encounter.
June 24th 2010, I began training with my new trainer, Coach Williams; a former track coach at UCLA and Florida State. He is teaching me about my sprinting technique, understanding why we do certain movements as athletes and visualizing myself doing all these things that we practice. He says, if you can see it in your mind then you can accomplish it in your life. Although we have only worked together 3 total sessions as of today (June 28th), it is apparent that coach teaches as much about life as he does about sprinting; as if they are one in the same. Already I have made and I can see great improvements in my running style, speed and life. I'm starting to believe that running and life are one in the same.
I met coach Williams through a friend, she gave me his information exactly a week ago today. He told me that he would like to meet and I should come to the track where will be at the very next day (Tuesday June 22nd) and I agreed. I was beyond excited to meet coach, the way he spoke about track, speed and power really had me pumped. His excitement and attitude seemed so intense that I knew this was a good decision.
When I arrived at the track, I noticed that this was a serious meet and not at all what I had imagined. Coach told me to call him, but he also described himself and I immediately recognized him when I walked in. When I approached him saying his name and introducing myself, he stopped me and said, "wait I have to get this time". I waited next to him and figured I would watch the track meet too.
The gun shot, I could feel a chill upon my body as if I were running in the race. The same feeling I have when I'm running a 40 yard dash and the exact same feeling I would have during my high school track meets. A heavy weighted feeling as if it all depends on my time, or the place in which I finished. Sometimes that feeling can be so overwhelming that it effects my running form and unfortunately my outcome.
The event was the Women's 100 meter dash and I remember thinking to myself as they took off running, man they are moving fast. Standing at the Finnish line with coach as they past, I noticed something very interesting about these ladies and I soon realized that there was something interesting about all the individuals and relay teams participating in this track meet, They Were ALL ADULTS. Whats so special about that, well the winner of that event was 55 years old and ran a 13.99 100 meter dash.
There were a variety of ages at this track meet, ranging from 30 - 90 years of age; one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life. Fathers, grandfathers, mothers and grandmothers all competing at a very high level and enjoying themselves. Just to see them run the 1, 2, 4 and 800 meter dashes was amazing, not to mention all the field events, high jump, pole vault, Javelin etc. Everything you see at the Olympic track meet was there and the times, heights and distances were very respectful.
I'm not sure if coach invited me to this event because he wanted to meet me asap, or because he knew that this would be a life changing event for me. This open my eyes once again to the realization that nothing is impossible and the mind is the most powerful thing on Earth. There are no limits just places and events and a world full of energy that needs to be explored and received.
Everyday is a gift and today is a new one, so open it and enjoy!!!

June 10th 2010
I spoke with my bank this morning regarding some issues with my account and what does the operator say to me, "Hello Mr. Culpepper how are you, I remember you from when we spoke last, about a year ago." I wasn't sure at this point who he was but later in the conversation he asked, so how's football going did you get signed, who you with etc. I politely said, no not signed yet and continue on with the reason for me calling. Before the phone called ended the operator mentioned football one more time. He told me to continue to work hard and good things will happen. I then told him what I had been doing, trying out for teams and my training/ tryout in LA. I revealed to him that I have been getting a little frustrated with the timing of my blessing and how it frustrated me to know that this means that I'm lacking faith. Calmly he said "I understand."
Bret then asked me, do you read the Bible Mr. Culpepper, I said yes and he replied, then you should read Roman 8:28. I was expecting him to give me a final quote and say goodbye, but he actually waited for me to find the scripture in the Bible; then he read off another scripture, Mathew 6:33. Bret literally began preaching to me and telling me to keep God first and all else will fall in place. This I believe and I also believe the Lord is speaking to me each and everyday, now through my Bank Operator, Go Figure!!!
O yeah, Spoke to Baltimore Ravens today! They called me about 6:45pm and all I could say was, "I'm ready to play and nothing else matters, bring me in." We will see what happens.
Thanks for reading.

Prayer of the Month
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not seek so much to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardon that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born into eternal life. Amen

Great Workout
So I was under the impression that I would be in Rookie camp this weekend, but the three teams that expressed the most interest in me never called me in. My agent insisted that I remain calm and my time is near and she sent me to a workout with an Canadian Team (CFL) the Edmonton Eskimos. I performed well in the workout, being tested in my 40 yrd dash, short shuttle, L-Drill and One on Ones. The coaches seem to like me and I made a good impression on them, all and all I'm happy with my performance.
I don't know a hole lot about the CFL, but what I do know is that it's football; a sport I love to play and I play it well. Angela (my agent) is still in conversation with a few teams in the National Football league, I have two workouts with the UFL and I'm preparing myself to play no matter what league I'm in. Thanks again for all your lave support and prayers and only time will tell where we will be, stay tuned.

Everyday There Is A Story To Be Told
The 21st of April started out like most days when I'm getting ready to take a trip. Get up early, have something to eat and give my ride a call to determine there destination. We make it to the airport on time, I check in ok, everything was going as planed; I knew this was going to be a good day. What I didn't know is what all was in store for me.
We had a late departure from Atlanta (one of the busiest airports in the US), understandable and a late arrival in MN. Sometimes, as in this instance being late is being right on time, God's time. My seat was in the back of the plane, all the way in the back (last seat), so I was the last one to get off. Moving towards the exit, thanking the attendants’ for their service and the pilot for a safe flight and receiving the normal responds "thanks for flying with us and have a great day", didn't seem so normal. For some odd reason I felt somewhat special and extra appreciated this flight, as if I were on my own private Jet lol. I knew this was going to be a good day, nothing could go wrong and if so who cares right.
As usual when I get off a flight I tend to be hungry, most people that know me would say that I'm hungry all the time, but I'm not the one to argue lol. So I decide to get a couple burgers from the McDonalds which had an extra long line, but like I said nothing could bother me at this point. The lady in front of me was complaining so much about everything, I looked at her and said, it's going to be ok and smiled. She smiled back and stopped complaining and took her frown and turned it upside down :). Smiles are contagious and can change the attitudes of individuals who may be unhappy.
I get my food, and look for a place to sit and eat. Most seats are taken and the others don't realy look appealing with my bag. So I decide to take an empty chair that was unlike all the rest. This chair looked like a narrow long up right exercise chair with wheals on it. Sitting on its lonesome on the side of a long, wide hallway leading to baggage claim, this was my chair.
I began to eat when I was approached by a young man who said "You play football", he said it in a way that I couldn't tell if he was telling me I play or asking if I played. I responded with a yes and a smile. This wasn’t the first time I've been asked if I play ball but usually it's when I'm standing and individuals can see my stature, but in this situation I was sitting when approached. He began to talk to me about God and how we football players need some guidance. How he would like to be that guy one day for athletes, a spiritual leader of some sort.
I continued to listen, putting in a couple words when possible, but for the most part I was listening. He quoted scripture to me, told me to glorify the Lord and don't forget to pay my tithes. I was under the impression that he was flying like me but he later informed me that he worked at the airport, shining shoes. I thanked him for his words of encouragement, shook his hand and Robert (His Name) before we departed said I'll pray for you. Now many say that to me, and I believe just the act of them saying I'll pray for you is actually a prayer but this time was different.
I placed my trash in the garbage, refilled my water and as I moved toward baggage claim I looked to my left and Robert was on his knees praying at the airport. This was unlike anything I have experienced before. This 24 year old was speaking to me and bout things as if he had known me for years. He actually start praying before I left the building or rather immediately after our conversation, I don't know what to say about this. I mean like I said I have had people ray for me before but not like this.
I'm very thankful and excepting of all that the lord has to offer. I pray that I continue to grow in my faith, stand by it and keep my ears and eyes open for whatever the Lord has to say. Wow, still pretty amazed at what happened but it's time to go workout, just wanted you to know what I've experienced.
Thanks for reading

WHAT A NIGHT
So I'm sitting here at my part time job bored as ever. It's so slow here at Fatsos Bar and Grill tonight, I don't get it, i mean it's the weekend. Now I have to sit here and think about football, the Draft and what special team gets a special guy like me. This has been an interesting weekend and I look forward to whats next.
My sister and I had an interesting conversation about my plane B and the what if question. The only answer I could give her is what if I didn't try? Everyone seem to have the answers to what I should and shouldn't be doing. Right now I'm doing what I have to do so I can do what I want to do. You know why? Because if it is to be, it's up to me. I believe that and I believe in me. Good night reader.

Don't Forget
"Don't forget what God has said to you in the light when you are in the dark." So I'm sitting here on the computer listening to Eddie Long of New Birth Church and following up on emails that I missed out on during the day. The statement above is what he said during the sermon and it means a lot to me. In my life at times just like in yours, I have moments where I feel like nothing is going my way and things aren't progressing the way I think they should. This is the time when I need to remember what God has said to me in the light and continue to move forward in the dark.
When there are dark times, I fret the most. I feel like I'm stuck for some reason, not moving at all. This is where I'm increasing and strengthening my faith daily. When things get tough and it seems like I'm not progressing, that's when I need to display the most faith. It's easy to trust in the Lord when things are going your way and you can see progression, but faith is when you trust and believe in the unseen. Soon these things again will come to the light.
Continue to remind yourself that the Lord will never leave you and all things are possible through Him. You will never be stuck simply moving forward through the grace and mercy of God.

Whats New
Well my agent (Angela Hales AKA Big Mammma) received word that two more teams have expressed interest in me as a Linebacker in the National Football league. One team from the AFC South and the other from the NFC North, both teams in which I have expressed interest in. At this point there are many teams that I like, but I'm willing to add support to any team that gives me the opportunity. I want to compete and WIN.
Other news in the next couple months be sure to check out my web page brandonculpepper.com, .mobi which is now under construction, as well as brandonculpepperfoundation.org. We have been working closely with PR representatives to expand and grow my BRAND. I want to become a house hold name ladies and gentlemen. Not just for what I do on the field, but for what I do in the community also.
I love helping and giving service to others, not b/c I know it's going to come back to me, but because it's the right thing to do. I talk about the movie "Peaceful Warrior" a lot in my blog, one thing the actor said that I will never forget is "The greatest gift you can give is service." That's what life is all about, doing to others as you would want them to do to you.
Big thanks to Art Franklin and the Art Franklin Media Group for all of their help these last couple weeks. All those who have supported me on this journey. Most importantly I want to thank you for reading this blog,
Stay tuned for what's next. Twitter
I will be sending post and tweets when pages .com, .mobi and foundation.org are up and running.

Brand Management
If you follow my tweets @culpeppernfl, then you would know that last week I attended a EICC meeting at New Birth Baptist Church. The focus of this meeing was building your Brand, whatever or whoever it may be. It was explained to me that I am a brand, my image and how I carry myself is watched and should be carefully monitored.
So after the meeting, I was introduced to many who work in the entertainment field and represent athletes, actors, artist, male and female alike. They were explaining to me how I have a very marketable brand and the benefits that can come from it (it=me=brand). This week I have set through a series of phone conversations with those I met at theevent; setting up meeting to put together marketing stategies and ultimaly choose a team or firm that can represent me, as well as I can represent myself.

Were Ready, Are You?
Im so ready to play right now!! Just had to let that out, don't be alarmed. Late night for training here in Atlanta and yes we got it in (Get IR DONE! LOL). I must say, I really am enjoying myself, this journey, the people I meet, places I go etc. I'm just so thankful for the opportunity to do what I want to do, enjoy life, possitive energy and the possitve people that I continue to attract in my life. Big congrates to my boy Big Mike that I train with here in Atlanta GA. Mike got called up by the Broncos yesterday and he is ready to go; I'm excited for him and I wish him all the best. He is O-Line, so you know I got to give him the business a few more times on the field before we both depart.

SERVICE TO OTHERS
Part time as I have mentioned in other blogs, I train individuals who are interested in living healthy lifestyles, work at a restaurant in Dacula GA called Fatsos and spend time working with children and young adults. I help kids with their math using functional training @ Gillette Grade school. Lend my time and money to One economy and other global outreach groups here in GA, as well as visiting local schools and hospitals throughout Atlanta. I am able to be a service to others.
Recently I received pictures from some of the events that I participated in and figured it would be good to give a visual of what else I do outside of football and training. There is a great movie that I watched some time ago called Peaceful Warrior (2005). If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do. The movie explains that the greatest gift you can give is service to others.
I know that service to others especially service to children makes a difference in their growth, because it made a difference in mine. I have had many give their time and energy to me, so it's only right that I do the same. "Encourage and lead by example." Bishop Eddie Long says that we should,” Love Like Him, Live Like Him, Lead like Him.” I know that, once it’s all said and done with football, my next job will involve assisting children with their development.

FEBRUARY 2010 WOW!!!
Another Month gone by and it's day 62 of 2010. Lots has happened since the hand struck 12:00am and we were welcomed into 2010; meetings with teams, coaches, scouts, my agent, acquiring new trainers etc. All a work in progress I guess and I'm doing my best to enjoy the JOURNEY. The month of February seem to have flown by, it seems to happen like that when your doing lots. My goal for March is to slow down and enjoy it, rather then running around from point A to point B and some how getting to point F and G without any recollection of C,D, and F (you know what I mean).
I started with a new trainer in February, he works with me on my technique as a linebacker as well as some terminology. This was an awesome Idea until I took it to far; I continued training with Energy Fitness and Coach Johnson (the new trainer) and strained my foot. The foot is doing much better now, doctor told me it's from lack of rest and he was right. The month of February alone I have 30 training periods listed in my calender, not good especially when there were only 28 days in the month lol, but my trainers were not laughing (Weight Dropped). We have it under control now and are back on track to being in rookie camp this April and mini camp in July.
Baltimore sent me a msg to stay patient, keep training and be ready when my number is call and I'm holding to it. Other teams have shown much interest also and my agent continues to push my name throughout the league, Canada and AF1, I'm ready to play! Every time I feel a little down there always seems to be some phone call, email, text from coach, scout, agent or former player to uplift my spirits.
Just today after taking a much needed nap, I received a phone call from Peter, a recruiter from State Farm insurance that my professor Dr. Steven Castleberry put me on after graduating from college. When he introduced himself I figured he was calling about my renters insurance that I have not yet paid for the month of February, but the more he spoke and asked probing questions I knew that this was a different State Farm agent. Peter asks what I was doing these days, he said from his notes the last time we had spoke I had a workout in Texas June of 2008 and he was right. So much had happened since that time that I didn't know where to start. That conversation really put my life in perspective; these last two years have been AWESOME (THE JOURNEY)and I am very thankful and grateful for the opportunities that I have been apart of and those to come.
Last week I was asked to take part in a photo shoot and I would like to share some of my pics with you, enjoy.
I AM EXCITED FOR WHAT'S TO COME AND PLAYING FOOTBALL AGAIN!!!!

IT"S 2010 AND THE FIRST MONTH WAS AWESOME
Where do I start; I had a grand time over Christmas with my family in Michigan, we all got together; mother, sister, brothers, in laws, nieces and all my nephews. It was such a special moment in my life that it brought tears to my eyes; all my family together at once. While in Michigan I was able to touch base with the Detroit Lions, they need help too, maybe I'm the missing link to their team, I want to contribute and win (Lions team).
New Years was spent with my Mother, Just the Two of Us and boy did I have a good time. I love my mother so much so anytime we get to spend together is very special to me. We went out to eat, then to the casino and while there danced the year in to some live Jazz music.
After bringing the New Year in, I traveled back to Atlanta, GA where I began to get on track and continue my quest to the NFL. The week following my return as I was driving to work, the Baltimore Ravens called me. It was a Saturday evening. They notified me that they liked what they saw and they wanted to see more. I was encouraged to continue to work hard, train and be ready when my name is called.
I immediately called my friend and videographer , Jack Jeffrey of Building Nine Productions, and told him of the news. We scheduled a date to film, along with my trainer and things continued to work in my favor. Soon after Filmimg, my agent and I set up a meeting with the Baltimore Ravens the 4th week of the year in Mobile Alabama @ the Senior Bowl.
The Film looks great and the meeting with the Ravens went beyond well. They are considering bring me up for Rookie camp in April, after the draft. I was pump, well I guess when i think about it I'm still very excited. While at Senior Bowl I networked my way into series of conversations with other teams in attendance, scouts, financial advisors and various media networks (CSN,ESPN, and the NFL NETWORK). The reporters seem to find it very interesting what I do, I mean they speak to me as if I am one of a kind; when I think about it I really am.
I'll never forget the expression on Baltimore's scout's face when I told him I had the film he requested, he didn't expect me to have it done so quickly, I'm learning to expect the unexpected and be prepared at all times. This week week we have been following up with the teams and contacts made in Mobile and getting ready physically and mentally for my rookie season as a professional football player.
